Frequently asked questions
How do I get him started?
Let him watch you drop a few pieces in, then leave some sitting on top of the fleece where he can see them. Once he takes those he will start pushing his nose deeper on his own. Most dogs are digging through the whole mat by the second go.
Does it slide around on the floor?
No. The backing is non slip so it stays put on wood and tile while he roots through it. A mat that slides away from him is one he gives up on, so this is the part we checked first.
How do I wash it?
Straight in the machine on a cold gentle cycle, or by hand in the sink if you would rather. Let it air dry rather than putting it in the tumble dryer, and give the fleece a shake out so the strips sit up again.
Can I leave him alone with it?
We would rather you did not. It is fabric, and there is a squeaker in the paw corner that a determined chewer will go looking for. Put it down at meal times while you are in the room, then pick it up again when he is done.
