The shell is soft non toxic silicone and the battery sits sealed inside a hard inner core your dog cannot reach. That said, BorkBall Disco is built for chasing, not chewing. If your pup is a heavy chewer, supervise play and put the ball away after playtime.

Yes. Disco rolls happily on hardwood, tile, laminate and low pile carpet. Very thick shaggy rugs may slow it down a little, which some dogs actually love because the ball gets easier to catch.`
